Peek-A-Book: Enjoyable Knowledge
松田行正著
The title, “Peek-A-Book,” is of course a play on “peek-a-boo,” while the subtitle, “Enjoyable Knowledge,” was borrowed from the Japanese title of Jean-Luc Godard’ s movie Le Gai Savoir. Thus, in order to be able to enjoy all the small pieces of knowledge in the whole book, I strived to eliminate the relationship between the pieces so that only pure knowledge remained.
The shape of the book has the same propor tions as the mysterious black monolith that appears in Stanley Kubrick’ s movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (spine width: 1, page width: 4, height: 9), and it comes in a vinyl cover that is closed with a button. It is a book that is really fussy about knowledge, down to the details of its design.
